Are Tutoring Centers Good or Bad?
Benefits of Private Tutoring Centers:
- Having their own curriculum and structured learning plans.
- Having their ability to diagnose students’ strengths and weaknesses through a variety of tests (which can provide insights into where students are struggling or succeeding).
- Providing an atmosphere where tutors work with 2–4 students at a time.
- Keeping students engaged in the learning process.
- Allowing students the opportunity to help each other if the tutor is occupied with another student.
Drawbacks of Private Tutoring Centers:
- Tutoring centers are expensive, sometimes requiring parents to pay upwards of $50 an hour or more.
- Sometimes a student’s experience will likely not be one-on-one, you might wind up paying the high price for 15–20 minutes of individual instruction.
- There is no guarantee that tutors will live up to expectations.
- There is no guarantee of working with the same tutor in each session, which impedes rapport building.
This is a great topic to set on the table. In y opinion, tutoring centers are really good a beneficial. They help both parents and students. From the parents sides, such centers are helpful when parents work do not let them give their children the time they need in studying and doing their homework. And from the students part, such centers help students study harder and work more in the subjects they might face problems with.
ReplyDeleteI think that tutoring centers are very good especially nowadays where students really benefit from these centers, in helping them understand what they didn't get during the school time.
